Manchester Airports Group selects Polymorph (Nov 2007)

Polymorph, Lotus Notes specialists and one of the UK’s fastest growing IT services companies, has won a major order from Manchester Airport – the UK’s third largest airport – to extend its existing Lotus Notes platform and develop bespoke applications to support the organisation’s different business divisions across the group. This will deliver more efficient workflow processes and ensure that all essential information, including quality control and peer testing, is sent to the right people in the right departments.
Polymorph won the competitive tender against six other suppliers following a strong business proposal that offered Manchester Airport essential Lotus Notes application development work, as well as dedicated support services. Under the new agreement, Polymorph will work closely with Manchester Airport’s business analysts – who will identify and assess the organisation’s specific business requirements – to develop the necessary applications that will run within the airport’s existing Lotus Notes environment.

Manchester Airport implemented its Lotus Notes platform six years ago to manage all complex workflow systems and databases that were outside the remit of Excel spreadsheets. This environment enabled the organisation to share vital information between a multitude of divisions within Manchester Airport, and ensure effective working processes. The Lotus Notes platform ensures, for example, that all faults and incidents logged by duty managers are sent to the relevant department to be actioned, and to other divisions that might be impacted by that particular log. This agreement extends Polymorph’s successful four-year relationship with Manchester Airport, during which time it assisted the organisation inextending its desktop based solutions to fieldworkers for the first time using handheld technology.
